Synonym. Hemaris beresovskii Kuznetsova, 1906.
Forewing with transparent discal cell generally divided longitudinally by a vestigial scaled fold. Hindwing upperside very similar to Hemaris ottonis, but marginal band as wide between M3 and Cu1 as the distance between these to veins at the wing margin.
Male genitalia similar to Hemaris staudingeri, but uncus a little shorter. Right valve narrower before middle, its ventral margin not so obviously sinuate beyond middle.

China: v-vi (Sichuan); vi-vii (Yunnan; Sichuan); 7.viii (Sichuan).
OVUM: Unknown.
LARVA: Unknown. However, an unknown Hemaris larva found near Dêqên on Leycesteria could well be of this species as the location and host do not fit any other species (Fan Gao, iNaturalist 2024).
PUPA: Unknown.
Larval hostplants. Unknown. Possibly Leycesteria (Caprifoliaceae).
